What is a vehicle appraisal?
A vehicle appraisal is a documented opinion of a vehicle’s value for a stated purpose and date. It considers the vehicle’s identity, condition, mileage, equipment and relevant market evidence.
What should an appraisal report include?
Look for the VIN, vehicle description, valuation date, purpose, inspection details, photographs, condition notes, comparable vehicles, adjustments, assumptions and the appraiser’s identity.
How do I check AVAC membership?
Request an AVAC membership check with the appraiser’s full name, business name and location. Membership status does not by itself confirm a particular report’s accuracy or acceptance.
Will my insurer accept an appraisal?
Ask the insurer about its requirements before commissioning a report. Acceptance depends on the recipient and purpose; AVAC membership is not a guarantee of acceptance.
